iPhone Roulette

iphone rouletteiOS rouletteSteve Jobs launched the Apple iPhone in January 9, 2007. Since then, mobile phone design has never really looked back. Apple was at the very vanguard of these new types of phones, which people were calling Smartphones. Yes they were phones, but increasingly they were portable computers in your pocket or bag.

And with the increase in computing power has come better (bigger) displays, more computing power and a device on which you can now play extremely high quality games including, of course roulette. Now we talk about phablets as well as phones- there's a range of sizes that goes all the way up to the iPhone 6 Plus with its 5.5" retina HD display. Casinos have followed the trend, and many are designed from the bottom up for iPhones and other smartphones (we are thinking of the Leo Vegas roulette games here). Check out our Mac Roulette page if you also have a Mac computer and want to play on that.

History of the iPhone

The first ever iPhone was launched to great fanfare by Steve Jobs at the Macworld Conference and Expo in San Francisco in January 2007. An evolution of the popular iPod, it was the first real smartphone- a pocket computer that could also make phone calls.

The Apple iPhone 3G hit the stores 18 months later. It was subtle development- most of the improvements were felt "under the bonnet".

Then came the iPhone 4 in June 2010, with  a new look, a high res “Retina” display, more powerful camera and a front-facing camera for Face Time. From here on in, playing roulette and games like the Mermaids Millions slot machine on your phone became a totally different experience.

12 months later, the Apple iPhone 5 was born, which was significantly thinner and lighter than the 4S and twice as fast thanks to increased computing power. It came with a heftier camera with low-light mode and the ability to take panoramic shots. The iPhone 5 could handle 4G, the turbo-speed mobile broadband technology launched in the UK in 2012.

Then came the next generation iPhones 5s and 5c which were launched by Apple chief executive Tim Cook on September 10 2013 in California

And in 2014, Tim Cook proudly presented the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus in California. The iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch display, while it's bigger brother, the 6 Plus has a 5.5" retina HD display effectively making it a "phablet". This launch was the first time that Apple had released two devices in different sizes- in response to increasing competition from Android handsets.
